Getting started

Installing & launching JAW AI

Download the app, move it to Applications, and open it for the first time.

JAW AI ships as a standard macOS app inside a disk image (.dmg). Installing is the usual drag-to-Applications, with one extra click the first time you open it.

  1. Open the disk image

    Double-click the downloaded JAW-AI-<version>.dmg. A window opens showing the JAW AI app and a shortcut to your Applications folder.

  2. Drag JAW AI into Applications

    Drag the app icon onto the Applications shortcut, then eject the disk image.

  3. Open it for the first time

    Launch JAW AI from Applications or Spotlight. Because the app is downloaded from the web, macOS shows a one-time confirmation — click Open to continue. After that it opens normally.

What's next

The app opens to an empty workspace. Before the AI agent will respond you need to add an API key — head to Setting up the AI agent. If you just want to edit by hand, you can open a file right away from File ▸ Open.
