Channels & surround

Mono, stereo, and multichannel (5.1 / 7.1) editing, conversion, and fold-down.

JAW AI handles everything from a single mono voice memo to full multichannel surround. You can convert between layouts, edit each channel, and fold a surround mix down to stereo.

Mono & stereo conversion

Use Edit ▸ Convert to Mono or Convert to Stereo to change a document's channel layout — for example, collapsing a dual-mono recording to a single channel, or giving a mono source a stereo container for stereo effects.

Surround & multichannel

JAW AI supports multichannel editing including 5.1 and 7.1, with per-channel, non-destructive effects — an effect can target a single channel. When a document has more than two channels, open Edit ▸ Surround Mix… to map each channel's level and panning down to a stereo output — your way to fold a surround file into a clean stereo mix for delivery.
